SoccerFest FAQ's

 

Q1. How many games is my team guaranteed and when are they played?

Answer: Unless we have a severe weather problem all teams U9 & U10 will play four (4) games and U11 & Up will play a minimum of 3 games.  Two games are scheduled on Saturday and one (1) Sunday with the championships on Sunday afternoon.

 

Q2. How do you setup the Flights and Brackets for the tournament?

Answer:   Our goal is to ensure close, competitive games.  We will utilize prior tournaments and season record provided at registration to establish flights and brackets.

 

Q3. What is the cost of your tournament and when do I need to apply?

Answer: The costs for teams applying to the tournament are:

  • Boys and Girls, Ages U9 & U10 will be $500 per team.
  • Boys and Girls, Ages U11 & Up will be $550 per team.
  • Multi-Team and Full club discounts are available.
  • Teams should apply as soon as possible as space is limited. 

 

Q4. How do I pay the tournament fees?

Q5. If a team is not accepted, will we receive our application fee refunded?

Answer: Yes, any team not accepted will have their registration fee refunded.

 

Q6. When will I hear if my team is accepted to play in the tournament?

Answer: Acceptances will go out as soon as flights are filled and payment is received.  Notification of acceptance will be via e-mail and/or posting on tournament website. Verbal acceptance will not be granted.

 

Q7. When are schedules posted?

Answer: Schedules will be posted at least one week prior to the event.

 

Q8. When is registration?

Answer: Teams are encouraged to take advantage of our e-Registration.  In-person registration will also be available on Friday night at Bacon Academy.

 

Q9. What time does the first match begin on Saturday and Sunday?

Answer: Tournament play begins at 8:00AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Generally, we try to schedule local teams earlier in the morning to accommodate teams traveling longer distances.  However, this is not guaranteed and not always possible due to field space limitations.

 

Q10. Are there any matches on Monday?

Answer: No, the tournament is over Sunday.

 

Q11. Is this a patch tournament?

Answer: Yes, all teams should exchange Club patches after every match.

 

Q12. Where can we find directions to field sites?

Answer: All directions are posted on the tournament website.

 

Q13. Does my team need to check in before every match?

Answer: Yes; there will be a field marshal at each site and teams need to check in prior to their match.

 

Q14. Our coach/trainer works with multiple teams.  Can we request separate match times?

Answer: An email can be sent to  requesting teams not to play at the same time, but due to the size of the tournament, requests may not be able to be fulfilled. Please make arrangements for an alternate coach.

 

Q15. Where are trophies presented?

Answer: Trophy presentations will be done at the Main Information Tent near R5 at the Recreational Complex.  First and second place teams receive their awards immediately following their match.  After the championship match, please have all players go to the designated site.  U9 & U10 teams will also be presented their participation awards.

 

Q16. Do we need to use your medical release, or can we use our own?

Answer:  The Colchester SoccerFest Medical Release/Liability form IS REQUIRED.

 

Q17. How will your field conditions be this year?

Answer: We have been working hard on our field capacity and this year we will utilize the light to accommodate additional teams. We expect our overall field quality to be improved as we continue to work on field conditions and availability with the town.

 

Q18. Is SoccerFest included in GotSoccer Events Rankings?

Answer: Yes, All data is manually entered for Non-GotSoccer events.  GotSoccer includes a list of attending teams for non-GotSoccer events and the placement for teams that are eligible for points.  For non-GotSoccer Tournaments only the top four flights using the 11v11 format and the single top flight using the 8v8 format are included.  CSC will provide GotSoccer a CSV file with a complete list of the teams and their GotSoccer ID's (if provided).
